MONMOUTH UNIVERSITY’S CORPORATE AND PUBLIC COMMUNICATION GRADUATE PROGRAM HONOR DISTINGUISHED ALUMNA

West Long Branch, N.J.
(April 3, 2013) – Monmouth University’s Corporate and Public Communication (CPC) graduate program held its fourth annual reception and honored Long Branch resident Lisa Kanda, President and Chief Results Officer, of Elkay Corporate Advisors, as the alumna of the year.

Kanda, class of 2005, is an experienced strategist and marketing professional who launched her company in 2008 to help businesses be more profitable. In addition, she teaches social media classes for the Monmouth Ocean Small Business Development Center at Brookdale Community College, and is hired to consult, train and speak about social media across the United States.

“Monmouth’s CPC Program is unique in that it is flexible — students can develop their own plan of study that is aligned with their personal and professional needs and interests,” said Dr. Sheila McAllister, the Director of the CPC Program. “The alumni of the CPC Program have a proven track record for being exceptional communication professionals and scholars. We are thrilled to recognize Ms. Kanda for her accomplishments,” McAllister added.

”Earning my master’s degree from Monmouth’s CPC Program was the accomplishment of one of my goals to provide a stronger foundation of study in communication that would enhance my skills in the workforce. Since I was working full-time, I needed a Program that would accommodate my schedule and allow me to focus on areas that would align with my professional needs, “said Ms. Kanda.
